Hazardous Energy - Lockout Tagout

The purpose of lockout/tagout is to prevent machinery or equipment from unexpected startup or release of hazardous energy while machinery is being serviced. The lockout/tagout program does not include cord and plug connected equipment. This program can also be called Control of Hazardous Energy because when you lockout/tagout, the purpose is to control all hazardous energy of the machine or equipment. This program focuses on procedures for lockout/tagout with emphasis on safety. Major requirement for anyone working with machinery and other processes.
