Hazards associated with welding and cutting arise from toxic gases and fumes, radiation, electrical circuits, and flammable and combustible materials. Training in the care and use of protective clothing is necessary for the safety and health of the worker. Control measures will aid in the reduction of workplace hazards associated with welding. Training should be given to all workers on hazards in welding and cutting operations. This program will focus on the general safety and health hazards associated with welding and cutting.
